Well I got few questions what parts you already bought?
How much budget for the memory?
Any overclocking system/memory?

How much budget for the memory?

well , open check :)

Any overclocking system/memory?

Well here we don’t but the top parts we buy slightly lower and overclock it and answer to the rest of my questions (in case you returned something they will not give you full refund )

Well here we don’t but the top parts we buy slightly lower and overclock it

In my opinion , overclock as same as raid setup , better to buy raptor than set to 7200 HHDs in raid
So , better to buy top parts than slower one and overclock them

and answer to the rest of my questions (in case you returned something they will not give you full refund )

the owner of the company , my best friend , and he will change any part i want :) :) :)

Any E6600 + tower 120 here @ XS will go as high as 3.6GHZ so don’t tell me that overclocking is not worth it and as a gamer you should focus mainly on your GPU not CPU
Plus: it is better to spend less today say 1500$ and go for extra 500$ every 3-6 month

Any E6600 + tower 120 here @ XS will go as high as 3.6GHZ so don’t tell me that overclocking is not worth it

i didnt say it not worth it , Of course if i overclock lower parts , i can get
a Higher performance than any top parts ( This is a fact ) .:fact: :fact:

however it is ( overclocking ) a risk :nono: :nono: ( in my opinion ) , i overclocked my system before several times , untill one time my motherbord burn   , maybe i made a mistake thats why the motherbord burned ,
so i stoped to overclock my system , and i decide to buy top parts instead of overclock my system .:D :D

and as a gamer you should focus mainly on your GPU not CPU

my old CPU is E6600 2.4 , and without overclock , I can not reach the required performance
however with CPU made specialy for games ( cpre2 Extreme ) , i thing it is the right choice :woot:
They don't call it the world's best gaming processor¹ for nothing. With Dual-Core Intel Core 2 Extreme processor, you get energy-efficient gaming performance for a frighteningly vivid high-def multimedia experience. Plus, with up to 4 MB of L2 cache and up to 1066 MHz front side bus, you'll be raging across the universe in true need for speed fashion.
beside of i know how much important the GPU for games , and I intend to buy 2 X ATIX1900XTX and set them crossfire   , but im waiting for the R600 card , so i buy one and no need to spend more money for the second one :) :)

Plus: it is better to spend less today say 1500$ and go for extra 500$ every 3-6 month
maybe i spend more money for my new system , but i thing with These specifications i can wait untill the Intel's 45nm process , available in the market in the middle or end of 2007 , and i will change The entire system

Then no need for crossfire you just have to switch sides and get a 8800GTS that will serve you well on that resolution for long time

if you are going to game, the difference between tight and loose timings are only 2-3 FPS different. So nothing worth really worrying about.
Get a value set from a good company and save the rest of the money for a graphics upgrade later

Well if you are still there go and take a look at http://www.tigerdirect.com/ if you like anything there you can buy it through Amazon

And one more thing the believe me the X6800 is not worth the price difference over the E6600 even if you don’t overclock just keep your money for later upgrade or get yourself a better monitor

koc

And one more thing the believe me the X6800 is not worth the price difference over the E6600 even if you don’t overclock

the reason why i select X6800 is the Excellent result in game play tests over E6700 & E6600
review
http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/showdoc.aspx?i=2795
and
http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/348

in fact the X6800 Overcome QX6700 in game play test

http://www.techspot.com/review/27-intel-core2-extreme-qx6700-quad/page5.html

so i think it worth to buy X6800 , specialy for a person like me , not overclock the system :D :D

just keep your money for later upgrade or get yourself a better monitor

if you mean a bigger monitor , the 19" its just fine for me

and if you mean another ( better ) 19" monitor

the 931C is The official monitor of the World Cyber Games
In addition to a 2000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio and lightning-fast pixel response time of 2 ms (G to G),

so its the best 19" gameing monitor

You won’t face a situation where X6800 will give you playable frame rates and the E6600 will fail to get the job done and to see that take a look at oblivion you will see only 10% difference for 1/3 of the price and I meant bigger monitor something like 1600X1200

man need your opinion to select the mobo

in fact , i fuond that MSI not very good choice

so , can you Pls. help me to decide which one of these mobos is the best

for X6800 ( without overclock )

Well we should start a quick comparison

First I will disqualify the Asus because it is not as good as the others

The AWD9-MAX will give you the option to go crossfire in future and better overclocking for quad core also when you set everything to Auto your X6800 will be running @ 3GHZ that will give slight advantage in CPU intensive tasks but won’t make a difference in gaming
on the other hand the Evga 680i is full of features and SLI support also gives you the Ability to go SLI

So both of them are great Mobos but for a gamer the Evga will serve you better

Two more things

1st I am more experienced than you and I am telling you this the X6800 is not worth it even @ stock the E6600 got better value for money and will deliver a great performance the X6800 will give you only the Ability to say I got an extreme chip but in 6 months you will start to smash your head into the wall for paying such price

2nd with the Evga you might need to update your Bios because the old one might have Raid issues

That all and I am telling you that for your sake so you go and buy whatever you want

man you make me feel regret , coz i bought X6800 ,

beside the X6800 already with me in the box i did not opene it yet

maybe one of my friends buy it from me :D

kemo
01-20-2007, 02:28 AM
Well the X6800 for extreme overclocking or to show off in front of your friends it Is always better to buy non extreme chip and upgrade more often or even overclock and when it die get another one two E6600 for 600$

koc
01-21-2007, 02:49 PM
Well ...

Like I said before, i already bought X6800 and And there is no room for retreat :nono: :nono:

So , i did this ..

i gave the MSI and E6600 to my brother :toast:

and i decide to use X6800 , with EVGA 680i sli mobo ( i will order fom amazon )

but my VGA is ATI X1900XTX , and the mobo has Nvidia chipset

can i use my VGA with EVGA ?

is there any conflict or problem if i use ati VGA with Nvidia chipset ?

kemo

You can use it with no conflict
