Catalyst 7.1 Released


ATI/AMD has released its latest Windows XP Catalyst driver, version 7.1, for the newer Radeon cards (9600 and newer).

So, any word on if these will support Folding@Home or better overclocking of the X1950Pros? (assuming that the OCing problem is a driver issue, I don't know what it is)

Well from what I see performance wise they added another 100 pts to my 3DMARK 05 score and so far so good! Also CCC opens like real quick now actually allot faster then 6.12 Cats, but as for the folding @Home I think they are a bust from what I have read, don't quote me on that tyhough see for yourself because I don't fold! :slapass: :explode:

I have been using them since they came out and have been doing some gaming and there is a big improvement with DOD Source as well as CSS just way overall better all around and its about friggin time too because I was really staring to get dissapointed with this card seeing how its my first ATI card and outside of the driver CD that came with it the drivers have been terrible up until now..well 6.12 was a huge improvement over everything else but thank god their getting their :banana::banana::banana::banana: straight with these drivers!:toast:

So my opinion is they are very stable and very good drivers and I have yet had issue one with them!

Well, performance wise, seems to be same as the Cat 6.12's. I will give these a try just for the CCC opening quicker.

It causes some weird anonomlies in CS:S and some odd white blocks where some poeples heads used to be in guild wars... other than that its great!

COD2 seems a tad slicker here on my x1950pro, ccc opens quicker too.
