HARDWARE=UNLOCKED XP1600 GENERIC PC333 DDR 120GXP 40GiGz x 2 [RAiD0] P.O.S_V7700 WATERCOOLED[NO LEAKz...HEHE]

OK HEREz MY PROBz FOR THE 8K3A+......

1. BEFORE I UNLOCKED MY XP1600 I WAS ABLE TO RUN THE FSB AT SPEEDS AS HIGH AS 176 x 10.5. THAT'S ACTUALLY LOW COMPARED TO WHAT EVERYONE ELSE IS RUNNING DUE TO GENERIC MEMORY. NOW I AM ONLY ABLE TO REACH 150S IN THE FSB AFTER I UNLOCKED MY PROC????????????!!!!!!!!!!!:banana::banana::banana::banana: ME >HEHE<.

2.MY MULTIPLIER WILL NOT GO PASS 11.5x. [12x and 13x are recognized as 11.5X. 14x and 15x wont boot.]

that is normal. i have an unlociedk, xp1900.

the default multiplier is 12x LOCKED, when u unlock it, it allows LOWER mltipliers, not LOWER and HIGHER. 12x and up will jsu set it to a lower X or not boot at all. The point of unlocking is to LOWER the multiplier and RAISE the FSB, that way giving you the same if not more overall speed with greatly improved memory bandwidth/performance.

OH AND WHY DOES IT STILL ALLOW ME TO ACCESS 11X AND 11.5X?
XP1600=10.5X STOCK RIGHT?

cos it's not unlocked right. a fully unlocked cpu usually allows 6/7 thru to 12.5/13. To get 13 you have to set it to 138x12.5 and it should automatically flip the mul to 13 to give you 1733.

you won't get more than 13 without modifying more bridges on the cpu...

Set it to 180*9.5... see if it'll do that. Should give same speed (ish) as yer 176x10.5, so if yer ram's capable of higher (set dimm voltage to +0.5/6 in bios) then that's the way to find out. Then try 190x9, then 200 x 8.5. CPU Voltage on around 1.9v would be recommended too.... if you manage 200x8.5 then increase the multiplier. when it bombs, knock the voltage up another notch on ram and cpu (monitor tempos, keep below 50!) and try again.

You should stop trying to get cpu speed up tho and get your ram timings set to fastest possible first... (ULTRA in advanced chipset > dram) then start overclocking the cpu.

This is standard forum rule everywhere I've been: DONT TYPE IN ALL CAPS!!!

Now, if you're having probs with caps lock, maye we can help...
