I am using a T-Force 550, the bios has options for SATA-I or Auto, but no force to SATA-II (its set to AUTO). The harddrive is Hitachi 160GB 0A31637 SATAII U300.

I'm using the lastest Nforce drivers (9.16).

In device manager I select the Primary SATA controller, right-click, select properties, select primary channel properties and it shows "Let BIOS select transfer mode" is checked. If I uncheck it, the drop-down box only lets me select SATA-I or PIO, no SATA-II.

Anyone have any thoughts.

Some SATA II drives ship with jumper for SATA I/SATA II in the SATA I mode. Check your drive for this jumper, if it's on SATA I, take it off. My Western Digital drive was like that.

That's an example of my WD 320gb drive. As you can see, if the jumper is on it will resort to SATA I transfer speed.
