What could I use to clamp tubing tightly enough (and not sever it!) so that I could pull it off of the pump, and change the pump? I really don't want to drain it all, and if it were possible to do this, I'd like to change my DDC-Ultra to a DDC-Pro...the noise is killing me.

You could take two flat plastic pieces and use a pair of needle nose "Vise-Grip" pliers to clamp off the tubing.

no matter how hard you try, you'll still have air after swapping components. it won't kill to drain it and do it right. at most it only takes overnight to bleed the system.

that's when i change all my stuff out- at night. then i leave it running on a 12v power source with the t-line full overnight. i have a dc power supply and i just adapted some alligator clips onto a molex connector for my pump- you can use an car/tractor battery. in the morning the t-line is down a few inches and the tubes are solid.

you can't play with it while your in bed anyways..... at least not your computer!

USPlastics has clamps that do that. They're used to control flow.

Today I just found out the ddc ultra is really loud:( But I'm just going to connect it to a sunbeam rheobus and turn down the volts:) Perhaps if I have time I will experiment with different materials to find out which one blocks sound the best, then make some kind of foam cover with sound absorbing material on the outside to stop the noise.
