My friend just got his "new" Ultra-d and he is kind of conserned about his memory timings. The board doesnt like dividers at all :slapass:

His system is:

DFI Ultra-D
Opteron 170
Crucial Ballistix pc3200 2x512

And he got the latest "NF4LD406" bios from dfi.com. We were able to run the cpu with divider 133 and we were able to boot upto 280fsb with 2.5-3-2-8 then it stuck. The strange thing is that we don't get any lower 2-2-2-5 so it must be the board that is the problem. So I wonder if there's any good bios for the crucial ballistix pc3200?

4/06 is the latest official bios, the other recent ones like 704 2bta aren't any better, but worth a shot. Be sure to use both orange slots and clear your cmos after flashing.

i like 11/14 for kits with micron chips.. like the ballistix ;)

and not going below 2-2-2 timings is a problem? that's kinda the lowest ddr1 supports, soooooooo :D
