Hey does anyone know if the quad cored Kentsfield processors work with the new intel mac minis?

not yet. The mini uses a mobile CPU and once they get quad core for mobile, they will probably use a different socket anyway.

Go with the T7600, not a quad, but a good CPU.

Yeah, my t5600 runs at 140. You don't really need quad cores yet either.
Any Merom with be fantastic. The t7600 is a great chip but I found it too expensive to justify for the Mini. The t5600 and 2 gb of Kingston ram have made my little Mini into a little powerhouse though.
Think of the thermals for the case. It is tiny. The "heatsink" is more akin to a chipset heasink with a small amount of airflow. Plus it is aluminum.
You might be able to run it if you took out the throttling cable - the fan would then run at full RPMs but would most likely die and be noisy as hell. It is not like it is heavy duty though.
It would also be nice if someone came up with a full copper heatsink for the Mini. I could Dremel a ghetto one, but it would be nice to have a machined one of precision.
