Did this ever happen? Is it ever going to happen? Seems to me it would since Crucial = Micron no?

Any thoughts?

You can buy generic Micron DDR2-800 stuff that's GKX here locally :)

Last i heard, nothing from Crucial using that now or anytime soon though, but who knows.

AFAIK - all Ballistix Crucial out now is D9GMH.
Anniversary series - handpicked D9GMH
Virst Ballistix revisions - D9DQT (Fatbody) ... very hard to find

I don't know any GKX Crucial yet :)

local store here in EDM has them took a look at them over the weekend. $199CAD per stick is a bit much tho...can get some GKX from relabeller for less, methinks.

$340USD ($398CAD) for 2G (2x1GB) for D9GKX is a good price. I doubt you can find cheaper than this.

The G.Skill PC8000ZX used to be around 350$ but now you can find it only in ncix (I think one or two kits) for 450 CAD

1024/512 MB dimm DDR2-800 5-5-5 1.8V = D9GKX

1024/512 MB dimm DDR2-667 5-5-5 1.8V = D9GMH

Problem is, i do not believe they ship, & they never have stock of the 1 GB dimms, since everyone in the know locally buys it before you can find out there's stock again...

Look at the Name: "Micron original". DDR2-800 is the highest bin by Micron.

No camera phone, so no, I cannot. However, these IC's say D9GKX on them, and a pic has been posted here of the same sticks from the same store before. they went out of stock tho, but came back in just before Christmas.

This is Micron Valuram. These are not IC's bought from Micron and relabelled by Mushkin, OCZ, or the likes...they are direct from Micron, and bear the markings to reflect such. If they do not bear the Micron markings, then they are not Micron parts.:fact:

I'm of the firm opinion that's how alot of these relabellers started out...buying sticks from the OEMs direct and placing thier own heatspreaders on them. This was long before any such cooling was needed. Once they got enough in sales, they started buying the IC's direct, and mounting them themselves, in some cases, and some of them still buy direct from OEM and just slap heatspreaders on them.:fact:

No, because i don't own them.

However, the whole reason i know about these is from someone who works @ Memory Express, & of course, he owns the GKX himself.

He's seen all of them; i've seen a few of them when i went down there last time.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out why they are the ICs they are.

Most people don't seem to remember D9GKX originates from 400 MHz 1.8V Micron, & so on with the D9GMH & D9DCN.

Since the dimms are naked, anyone who goes into Memory Express can ask to see them for themselves, as i did last time i went there.
