is it really worth getting an E6600 over a E6400, what advantages would i get, ill be doing mild overclocking and gaming with my 8800GTS.
itll be on a P5B-Deluxe Wifi/Ap mobo with crucial ballistix memory.
is the E6600 worth getting over the E6400 really?

The price difference is about $100 or less. And IMO it is worth it because it will overclock easier and run cooler.
With an E6600 you won't have to push your board, RAM and motherboard to the limit in order to reach a good overclock. And the 4mb cache is supposed to help too!
also be sure to wait till 15 Jan when intel will do a nice price cut for all C2D cpus

1)wait for E4300 to arrive :)
2)if need the new CPU fast - I suggest going for E6600 ... IMO - well worth it.
Also you can look for Xeon 3050, because by statistics they seem to OC a little bit better than E6600

they also report higher temps than the e6600 ;)

depends on your Overclocking skill and your primary use.
If it is just games, they you can get away with virtually any processor (provided you don't like playing at the 640x480 level)
the better overclocker you are, the cheaper the CPU you could get and still have a great overclock
when will a user need the 4mb cache and the E6300/E6400 won't be good enough ? and the increase in performance will cover the increase in price ?

E6320 and E6420 will release this year and they'll have 4MB cache but same Multipliers as E6300/E6400 (x7/x8) - E4300 will have 2MB Cache and a Multiplier of x9, in Q2 E4400 will be available same cache but a Multimeter of x10 (all that for only 133$), the performance will never be fair by comparing the price but that's just marketing I guess.

The article you referenced shows second quarter of 2007, that's not exactly Jan 15th.
2nd quarter for Q6600 price cut but
Core 2 Quad E6600 = 851$ (7 jan) and ( 530$ Q2 2007)
E6700 = 316$
E6600 = 224$
E6400 = 183$
E6300 = 163$
Two New 4Mb cache Models :
E6420 (2130mhz/4Mb cache )
E6320 (1830Mhz/4Mb cache)
entry-level :
E4300 = 163$ (On the day of E4400’s launch and onward, E4300 will has a new price from $163 to $113,113$)
E4400 --- Q2 2007
EDIT:
ya sorry it seems that you are right
In 7 JAN its only the release of the Quad core E6600 (851$) and the E4300 (163$)
Quad core E6600 for 530$ only in Q2 2007
the other new CPUs and price cuts only in Q2 2007

ill should wait for the E4300 then, higher multiplier and cheap

get the cheap one and lots of Ram, since that helps games most

Q6600 is gonna be released on the 7th of this month Safrout?
I'm really looking to buy the Qx6700 but the price keeps bothering me a little bit but if that Q6600 is coming out on the 7th then it's worth the wait
dont you think??

Q6600 is not a good CPU, IMO.
Most of current motherboards have problems clocking quad-cores high on FSB. Since Q6600 has "low" and locked multi -> not a good CPU for overclocking.
As for E6400/E6600, I already said - wait for E4300.
If need the CPU now - choose between Xeon 3050 and 3060 (same as E6400/E6600, but seem to clock better)
