My friends mac g4 needs ram. i want to get him corsair or some other soddim ddram. Do you think it will work in his mac, or I need mac specific ddram.

It depends on what kind of G4 he has. Some models use different kinds of memory than others. You can find out what model he has by entering his serial number here (http://support.apple.com/specs/).

Any brand of ram should work.

Mac sales makes it easy to find what is right for you.

but any standard PC ram should work provided it is the right spec.

Standard PC ram should work just fine.

I baught from him 1gig of kingston pc3200 soddim. It works fine, but when he baught the new Mac osx and was trying to install it, couldnt install, it gave errors during install, so finally we decided to remove the ram, and it seems to install fine, and works fine with the ram back in, after install.
