My suggestion is http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813130056
now for processors you have lots of choices.
and as for ram, the question is what is your primary goal? Games or Benchmarks or Crunching?

well if you are lucky, it can take an 2800+ to crank it to 3Ghz

2800+? Are you talking about a Sempron or did you mean X2 3800+?

Sorry for resurrecting this, didn't realise this forum got that little traffic

- Athlon 64 X2 3600+ Socket AM2, (easelly ocable to 2.5-2.8Ghz with Air).
- 2Gb kit of DDR2-800 Mushkin, stock latencies around 4-4-3 (dont remember exact product code but its XP series) goes to 1100+ with 5-5-5

Well i like do ton of different crap at same time :) single core is just too slow for me.

But anyway My A64 3600+ X2 S939 is atm working 2.7Ghz in normal air cooling, also i have tested A64 3600+ AM2 witch worked also around 2.7Ghz in air.
