a GF4 MX is actually a renamed GF2. doesn't doom 3 require DX8 compatibility?

but, maybe CCW knows more, he's got a GF4 MX.

i think my roomate played it with his geforce 256 ddr (really nice card!) and ive also read that youll be able to play it with a geforce 2 mx , but with very low quality settings... no textures at all i imagine :D

doom3 i thought was built on dx9, but even on dx8 I played on gef4 4600 and it was seriously choked out graphics wise... you will need a better card than a MX to play doom3 at any enjoyable level.

if you are talking alpha here then of course it is going to suck and shouldn't be discussed here.

i originally though doom 3 was direct x but John Carmack has said its OpenGL or so i heard, the gf4 mx 440 is a renamed gf2

mx400 clocks are 270 core and 200 mem (400), it doesnt have al lthe features of direct x 8.0 either so an mx440 isnt gonan do it

mx440 struggles with return to castle wolfenstein with any great detail so it is going to struggle with doom 3 a lot

I'd be very surprised if Doom 3 was a DX game.
