Hi guys this is probably not extreme overclocking (P4 Prescott 3@3.75 with P4C400 Vcore mod) but I know you are the team to answer such questions. So here it is...

I overclocked my old machine, a P4, using Zalman reserator to 3.75GHz (250MHz bus) while ram is 2x512GB Kingston@200MHz 2-3-3-6(5:4) ...The ram has been tested at this speed and it is ok. The problem is with the CPU. At 3.75GHz max temp is 61C and when disabling Hyperthreading, Prime95 runs for over 18hours fault free. When I enable Hyperthreading and run TWO instances of Prime95 the CPU load reaches 100% and one core (I think the virtual one) fails after about one hour. The other core continues for ever without issues...

Why is that? Is there a bug with Hyperthreading or the overclock is unstable? I tried raising Vcore to 1.7V but I get the same results. Max temp 63C at that setting.

Thank you in advance guys,
Tony
