Do they have any good directional mics for macs? I want a mactop come january but ill need a good directional mic for class im mainly going to use my mac for burning dvds/music, photoshop when I have time, classwork and basic comp use that's mac related (email,browsing ect)
Not sure if it's really what I want - what pros do you guys have on the mactop over a regular laptop?

...Mactop? Do you mean macbook? Built in microphone on them I believe.

as you can run both XP and OS X on the MacBook Pro it is a great choice. As for mic's if you see some one with one of the beauties ask them to run the mic and see how it picks up. If not up to your standards then look at CDW (or sim) for one. Either way you can't go wrong with it.
The mic on the MacBook picks up very well. Although I am guessing you are wanting to use it as a voice recorder in a class. In which case just get yourself a good clip on lapel mic and you should be fine. RadioShack has a good one for $24.99 (hehe I am a RadioShack manager).
