i'm going to go with an E6400 and a gigabyte DS3 so i'm gonna need some RAM that will do DDR-1000 at 4-4-4-X or 5-5-5-X. will this stuff do it? if not i'll get something a little more expensive.

If you want to be guaranteed of PC1000+ I'd suggest our PC8500 or PC8500 Dominator 2gb kits.

how about this ram can it hit 1000? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145590

It all depends if it is the Promos or Micron stuff. If it is Micron (which I HIGHLY doubt) it should hit 1000+. However, the Promos does not clock as well. We have been seeing anywhere from 850-1000 in the lab at 5,5,5. But the results vary and of course are not guaranteed.

Can you point us on where to buy it?

Hmmm....Newegg is out of stock on the 8500 AGAIN.

They do have the PC6400C3 Dominator though as of DEC6 2006. I'll keep an eye open for places with the 8500 in stock. It seems to be in stock in some places in Canada and Europe but hard to find here in the US.

i just tried 4gbs of this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145590 ram on the asus striker extreme and it doesn't even boot into windows.I upped the voltages a little bit because it 4gbs to no avail
Asus tech says it's the ram but i dont believe that anyway.I honestly thought i got good ram there!!

Your link is not working for me. Can you tell me the specific part numbers of the memory you have? Also, will each pair run individually as 2 x 1024mb?

Not to change the subject but I noticed in your sig. you state your running Vista Ultimate with the Striker. I tried installing Vista on my system using the Striker board running RAID 0 with 2 RaptorX drives on the Nvidia south bridge. 3/4 of the way through the install I got a BSOD. Question is are you running RAID on your setup and if so did you experience the same problem?

Thanks Sin

well i've already got this RAM and i just wanna know if anyone here on XS or in your lab has gotten it to run around DDR900 with 4-4-4-X timings. right now it's only running at DDR850 4-4-4-12.

I'll check with the lab and see if they can duplicate this. However, if your MOBO will run 2 DIMMs just fine, and both pairs are not defective, I don't think the memory is at fault.

Do you have the latest bios for that board? And, have you run a pair of modules in both sets of slots to make sure you don't have a bad slot?

Where did you find this mate? I have the TWIN2X2048-5400C4 Rev 5.2 and I'm looking to find out how far I could be able go with them on a 1:1 basis...
