Welcome to Xtreme! :D

You will get many different answers to this I'm sure. I like this style case, with the door in front, front usb, removable hard drive racks inside and 2 rear fan mounts near top for exhaust. The included PSU is a decent one. I just got a trueControl550 PSU and I luv it.

Take your time, get input and look at lots of cases until one "hits" you...make sure it has the options you want/need.:D

bmboon, Welcome to Xtreme!:D

I've got the case TheDude recommended along with the Antec True 430w psu, and both are truely awesome. For the money, the deal can't be beat. the case has plenty of room, good airflow by design, and is rock solid stable. That psu powers my dual Amd rig, which its power requirements are more than most uni-processor setups, and it handles it under full load 24/7 flawlessly.

That second case Twisted mentioned is definitely top of the line, but it's also got the price tag to go with it.

Lian Li cases are really sweet, but spendy. if you don't need a full tower, the PC60 can be had for $120 or so. i also like the Antec Lanboy case. it's small and light, and looks to have good airflow.

oh and WELCOME TO XTREME!!!

Welocme to the Sickness!

Lian Li produce fab aluminium cases, Chieftec produce some nice cases. The Chieftecs have a lot of room and space for a few fans to improve airflow.

Welcome to Xtreme! The chieftec are excellent cases for the price and Newegg is always having sales on them. The Allied 450W PS from Newegg is also a excellent deal as you can increase the +3, +5, +12 lines if needed. Another very good PS is the TTGI 520W from Directron. I use all the brands mentioned and am pleased with all.

If in doubt on what to buy and you don't want to spend a heap of cash, then a chieftec dragon case would be a good buy.

I would have to agree with the majority of others here. I have built 3 systems in the chieftech cases for people within the last month and they are really a good bang for the buck case.

If can give you an advice is spend as much as you can in a good case! I've built many systems for friends with crappy case (they choose them!) and i can say that my antec was worth the extra.
Antec makes some really nice case (looks like the chieftech) and their customer support is really good

I've got the Lian Li 60 in black and the Chieftek in their off black sitting right here. They are both nice but the Lian Li is just real slick. Top blow hole, 2 side panel fans, two front fans, rear fan
I don't think it's bad at all for the money. :)

Didi you install the side panel fans yourself or can you get pre-modded sides now?

It came with the see thru side panel and the holes already cut in the side and the top blow hole. The fans were included with the case. No power supply. Can't remember what I paid. It came from CompUSA. I like it a lot. I came with 6 fans.

You want a good tower with plenty of room?
And modabillity later up the ying yang cheap

hydraulic full tower (http://www.directron.com/sf880b.html)
trust me $49 smackers without psu is worth it !!!!!
you can do almost anything to this case I violated it so much with my dremel and it's still standing LOL
I made 6 120 mm blow holes well the front is just a blowhole on the inside
two on top two on the bottom one in the front and one in the back above the psu
I integrated plexi in the front part for my crystal fontz and mauch more the side panel paint job is not finished pictures will come in the next few weeks
anyway this is maybe the ultimate modding tower
the silent one

I like this Antec case , the power supply is decent and the case has lots of nice features, and is very quiet. The 120mm case fans front and rear work very well.

ANTEC SOLUTION SERIES MODEL SLK3700AMB w/ANTEC SMART POWER 350W P4/AMD POWER SUPPLY

And the black aluminum Chieftec towers with plastic side windows are great. the 450W PSU they supply is good...otherwise I'd buy a Fortron Source or an Antec TruPower..

newegg is a great place to buy cases and since I am usually on a budget I buy cases like the Antec or Chieftec with the PSU as part of the package.

The first link is about a black case while it product number = "Model AX-01BLD "
Chieftec case breakdown:
A stands for aluminum, the X for their "a little taller than midi" case line, 01 dragon series and BL for blue, and D for Door

It should read AX-01 B-DUW Where the B is for black, U for USB front & W for window.

Probably shows I sell these cases for a livin' :| :D

Hi all. Been looking long and hard for a case aswell. First it was the Xaser III 2000, light & flashy, then reality and the mrs struck and I realised the 1080AMG looks a much better deal. Got two questions, if you please.

At the moment I got std clone with intake & exhaust fan as well as enermax psu. Case is 'bout 10° over ambient. Is that to be expected? Will a five fanner like the 1080AMG be a bit closer to ambient?

Cheers ! :toast:
