nice mounting kit.
But you could better use steel rings at bottom of evap instead of rubber ones.
Rubber gets worn after some time and the evap will sled 'into' the mouting..

Well - I don't think you stupid.:stick: There is a groove in the evaporator and the rubber ring fits inside the groove. I will agree with you, the metal ring is better. He said he was looking for a metal ring atm. ;)

are these compatible with chilly1 evaps?

Duniek and I worked on a custom holddown for my Chilly1 evap and A8V mobo. if you know how to use CAD i think Duniek could make you just about anything you need. i could send you the drawing of the dimensions of the muff we reworked!

Duniek

only diffrent with 2.0 and 2.5 is in evap

evap 2.0 has enter capilary on top and suction center on bottom

evap2.5 has enter capilary on bottom center
so whole cap tube is in suction

Make the bottom about 1 mm thinner to make it do a little better :) And at the top, make it bit smaller on drill size and just nick it with suction tube OD size so you can push it in without having to worry about blocking suction return... :)
This one really brings me back old memories lol.

hey duniek, the milled out recession in the hold down looks great. Im not sure the distance from the bottum of the hold down to the motherboard but this would make it shorter(may get in the way of some motherboards heatsinks), or you could save $$ and make it shorter lol and not have the recession.

just a thought

@ teyber
your mountings is like mine rev1.0 mounts (for evaps with seger rings) and holddowns is on 20mm height of muff)
rev2.0 with foam inserts like ordered by buckeye, and in my vapo ls kits has ~43mm so I must make holddowns with milled area bcoz in other way screws will be too short to mount it

Hi! I have just built a new system based around an Asus Rampage II Extreme Socket LGA1366 and an Intel Core i7 Extreme 965. Currently I am cooling the CPU with my Coolit Elite thermoelectric cooler which I had planned to use for the dual HD4870 X2s. I have a Vapochill LS and had hoped that a kit would be released by now to adapt it to the new motherboards or that I would be able to build one myself. It looks like you do beautiful work however.

edit - read the phase sections rules on sales - there is no discussion of sales allowed on public forums. Do this in private and do not discuss before or after results. thanks

sure, possible to make that mounting (Can you post some pics or naked evap and mounting itself with dimension of it here or on PM?)

Yeah mine has a Jinu Evap which is a bit different than a Chilly1, thats whay I asked. I ordered 2 extra Chilly1 enclosures, plus a Jinu one.

The Jinu Evap is ~1 inch tall
Chilly1's are ~1.125 inch tall

This is for the inside Muff insulation. Installing these are just like installing any other Evap enclosure, very simple :)

That's interesting thanks for the info Buckeye, if the economy permit I will go with the complete kit.

The Cryo-Z overall performance is 100% depended on the way it's mounted. And with that crap cheap plastic bending all over the place and touching mosfet cooler etc is impossible to make it work with the UD3.

With my DFI the problem wasn't so obvious as the X48 had a big clearance to mount almost anything around the socket.

all my mouuntings is universal, for diffrent evaps I change only foam insert ;)

When I mounted my CRYO-Z on my EVGA 790i MB I had to cut off the extreme ends on the hold down for it to fit. The mounting supplies that came with it are pretty cheaply done, workable tho.

Dunieks kit fit very well and I didn't have to mod anything to make it work.

I used a full art eraser insulation with a layer of blue shop towels and 1 layer of foam.

Motherboard is prepped front side for a EVGA X58 SLI & 965XE.
I did use Dunieks back plate and foam on this. I found that when I was torking everything down nice and tight that the back plate was bending a lot so I losened it up a lot, didn't seem to make any differance. I would suggest a full metal back plate for furture builds.

My Jinu Phase is working very nice, topping out at about 4.8ghz for now. I need to fine tune this baby still. I would so love a nice cascade as these chips seem to like it really cold. No ice build up yet and everything is staying nice and dry so far.

http://img116.imageshack.us/img116/2416/img08332jq6.jpg (http://imageshack.us)

Back side has a metal plate there, so it was packed to keep any air out.

http://img520.imageshack.us/img520/4746/img08262io5.jpg (http://imageshack.us)

Front side finished up.

http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/7571/img08342kb1.jpg (http://imageshack.us)

All done a Phase mounted and ready for it's first test run.

Here you go Duniek:

I made some cuts to the original mount so the measures are as is.

With all the cuts I still hit the NB and mosfet areas with the mount

I need a new set that will make a solid mount and still be free of those components.

Tell me if you need more pics or more details to make my kit, please PM me with the price. Thanks!

Yes the Evap has about 3,8cm or 38mm Diameter and Chilly1 told me in pm a while ago that he "designed the refrigeration unit from the Cryo-Z".

The diameter of the plastic holddown is shown on this pic from the other post see if that is what you need (between 65mm to 66mm):

the evaporator is under that insulation. those two half peice foamy things "sandwhich" the evap and the lip machined in it fits over the evaporator. so take off enough of that insulation to show just the evap, then slide over the mount (the hold down plate and the muff) then put the two styrofoam type things over the evap, then slide down the mounting till you have a tight fit :) then post a picture of it so you som1 can see if all is in order :)

When you say "take of that insulation to show just the evap" you mean cut it off with scissors to show this: http://i44.tinypic.com/mhyo42.jpg

So the sandwich will be made on the base of the evap leaving most of the head exposed? On pic one you can see that the evap is not a tight fit on the plastic head so how should I insulate the tip there?

in image 2 you have the mount and muff the wrong way round the evap goes like in the image and the foam holds it in place
you need to slide the insolation back off the evap and suction line slide the evap thru the mount and muff then fit the foam over the evap then slide the evap w/foam in to the muff then it should look like below :)

I finally got to mounting it again but I have a quick question:

There are no springs on the screw kit so how much should one tighten the thumb screws without braking the mobo in half and without leaving a tiny loose space between the evap and the cpu surface?

Thanks.

you must "feel" pressure
not too much bcoz high pressure can damage foam around of evap
