i have a kit of PC3500 EL Plat.'s Dual Channel Kit that i have always had issues running at its rates 2-3-3-8.
now, Memtest is telling me "The ram XXXXXX Does not have the ability to store data properly" then freaks out with errors.
the XXXXX is some sort of binary string. its not a memory address, maybe its a name for the stick of ram.
i pretty much already know the ram is dead and need to do an RMA, but what does that in effect mean "cant store data properly"
are the IC's just totally fubar'd ?
and this is even at 2.5-3-3-10 tighter timings are not good, bad things happen if i go tighter.
