Hi

I have a Seagate SATA NCQ 7200.7 160GB HDD. Is there any way to disable NCQ? MY Mobo is Asus A8N E and it shows no such option which states NCQ.

Curious as to why would you want to.

I would also ask why, there is no performance gain in all but the smallest single threaded applications.

But if you must, the option would be in the SATA controller bios, NOT the mobo's bios if this is a RAID controller.

If there is still no option to disable it, you can just disable AHCI as NCQ depends on it.

How do I disable AHCI?

How to access the SATA Contoller BIOS, I don't have RAID.

There really is no point. You loose much more then you gain in terms of performance. But do whatever you want.
