What do you mean by "next step up" as in cpu for that platform or new motherboard-cpu/platform?

I have an Athlon XPM-2200+ 35w mobile version on an Aopen flex-atx mobo.

There was Thunderbird A and B. I think XP+ maxed out at 2.4ghz (non overclocked)

Next step up would be an A64.

Might as well get an AM2 socket mobo and chip, performance is high and cost is very low.

Most popular low cost good overclocking AM2

mATX size, very good overclocking:

Odd size, slightly larger than mATX, very good potential:

budget cpu, only $40
