I´m going to get a new CPU soon, because my old 3000+ Winnie sucks and really slowers my Sytem. Could get much higher Benchmark Results with a better CPU. So i don´t want to get a very expensive CPU now because next year i think i will have to change to AM2 socket. I had an eye on the x2 3800+ Manchester (~140€) and the 4400+ (~240€, but nowhere in stock at the monent). I mostly use the CPU for gaming and benching. Would i gain performance from the 1024 cache with the 4400+ or not ? If not i think i will get a 3800+ as soon as possible and oc it :). If there is a "big" difference i will think about waiting and getting the x2 4400+. Need some infos/results pls.

Get a '06 3800x2 and OC it... I have a 4400x2 @2.6 on air... bought a '06 3800x2 for a friend of mine and got it up to 2.6 with the same settings at half the price....

Reccomend a 3800+. My 3800+ does 2.8GHz on water @ 1.63v good. That's AM2 though.

Most 939 chips clock similar.

Recomend the 3800 x2....my socket 939 can do 2800 on stock volts and 3006 on 1.54v perfectly stable.
I think the extra 512kb l2 cache on the 4400+ will be worth 200 or so MHz so you'd have to have a 3800+ clocked at 2.8 to beat a 4400+ at 2.6.

I also purchased a 3800+ to replace my preshot CPU...It too does 2.6Ghz at 1.50Vcore

The 4400+ I had went up to 2.84 GHz and that was it. I'd get the 3800+ too.
