Can anyone tell me if G.Skill 2GBHZ RAM can be used out of the box(without changing voltage settings) on GigaByte DQ6 mobo?

Please help, as it won't even POST (will keep on switching on and off).

With a "normal cheap" RAM it works fine. And if I use the G.Skill RAM with the "cheap" RAM (all installed together, total 2.5GB RAM) all work fine!

It's driving me mad!

use your cheap ram to update your bios 1st.
i found out DS4 doesn't have enough voltage to post 800 / 1000 2GBHZ as default. we might change SPD to 667 but will get a lot of email about SPD question again...

Bios is updated to the official F7 release. All voltages are set to Auto, but even when set to +0.3V, it still did not post or was very unstable with no overclocking.

BTW, I have a 550W PSU and my system is as follows:
Core 2 Duo E6600
2GB G.Skill HZ RAM
SATA2 300GB Seagate 7200.10 HDD
Floppy with card reader (2 in 1)
IDE DVD RW
6 x 80mm LED cooling fans Coolermaster
1 x 250mm cooling fan
PCI-E XFX Nvidia G7900GTX

also, my PSU only has the 4pin ATX12V connector, not the EPS 8pin... would that be a problem? I have just ordered a 4pin - EPS 8pin adaptor

Thanks

The RAM I have is the 0603, which I am told is not compatible with the DQ6 motherboard!! This was a returned RAM as I originally had the ZX series which was too incompatible!
