I never thought i be able to do this. I actually have a good reason to buy a better graphic card now lol. Ive used the latest wine 0.9.25 Amd64 version on a socket 754 Turion 2ghz@1.2 volt and a Geforce 6200 with slow 256mb ddr ram.

So come on
Run 3dmark2001 on your linux computer and show us what your card is good for. It be especially interesting to see how the Ati cards score

Wine is opensource so it is totaly free:)

You should install wine and the show off your computer ;)
sudo apt-get install wine and you got it.
Then yust download cpuz and /or 3dmark 2001 and run it just like you would in a Windows box:)

Download 3dmark 2001 se to the Desktop
Then you yust click the 3dmark.exe file and wine should automatically start the installation progress . After that you should have a new 3dmark icon on your Desktop .
Yust click it and wine will automatically run it:)

Now be sure to disable advanced pixel shader as that will not work on Opengl yet and then yust run the benchmark:D

If 3dmark was based on OpenGl there would be no problems running it on linux and scores would be just fine :)

Humm.. I must have done something wrong on the wine install. I tried CPUz and get an error about cant install.

Do you run the Dapper 6.06 or the newer 6.10 egdy?

No 6.10.
I looked in synaptic package manager and it shows wine as installed. I can start the install of cpuz from the CLI "wine cpuz.exe" but then I get -cant find c:\windows\system32\cpuz-
