I haven't tried on my week 23 yet, but apparently the L1's are connected but mutlpliers won't budge. Help!

The problem propably lies in the x13.5 multiplier, to successfully unlock the CPU you will have to alter some bridges so the default multiplier will become at most 12.5 or lower, because the motherboards can not change the multipliers on a CPU with a default multi of x13 and higher.

Listen...these are like the old T-Birds. You gotta connect the L1's with an HB pencil or conductive ink. If you read some of the reviews this is what they had to do. The reason the Palomino's had laser cuts were to prevent the L1's from being connected. Go try it and let us know ASAP.

I'll be recieving mine this afternoon...easier to know if the pencil works or if I need to use conductive ink:)

Yes I know, I am going to try it, but some guy put a meter across and said it was connected already, so maybe he messed up.

OOPS, I haven't noticed that you were talking about tbreds ... In the Tbred case, from what I hear they are currently unlocked and will come unlocked in the future, but still their multiplier won't allow setting below 13 multi w/o altering the bridges physicaly

Coolest,

Your saying we are going to have to cut bridges or just connect bridges??

The CPU will propably come unlocked or only requiere pencil to unlock like the tbirds, as stated above, but with out any bridges modding all we'll be able to get is multipliers x13 and above, when mobo's will support them

I will check into the situation by comparing some pictures of an TBred at 12.5X and lower and the 2200+ at 13.5.

I sure wish AMD would ease up on us overclockers when it comes to this surgery crap. We will figure it out sooner or later, but what a pain in the ass! I guess I'll connect the L1's and put it up on a KX7 and see what happens. I just hate taking it in and out for cut and connect jobs. Hopefully somone will figure this out soon like they did with the 2100. I was able to get that one unlocked on the first try with a dremmel, but it was torture!

They have eased up apparently. At least they're not like Intel...

OK, I saw something about an unlocking guide on the front page. This can not come too soon, because I am about to take out the old dremmel and start experimenting. I have a week 23 2200+ OEM and I can confirm that even with the L1's connected, the chip is still locked!!!! Also it would not even post on a KX7-333 even with the latest bios. It did run (HOT,HOT,HOT) on a 8k3a, but with Swiftech air and a 80mm delta, it only wants to ride stable at around 1900mhz at 1.7v. If the damm thing didn't get so hot I could give more voltage and maybe go higher, but I doubt it. There just isn't much headroom yet. But 1900 would be fine for now if I could get high fsb's. Without being able to unlock this, it is pretty useless. I may try the L3 bridge cut that is referenced here http://www.beachlink.com/candjac/TbredDecode0.htm and try for a 10x multiplier. I think I am most pissed about this abit kx7-333 thing.
