Hi guys and gals.

Reasently i recieved my new c2d board, the Biostar Tforce 965PT.
This was supposed to take the place of my abit ab9 pro since i only could get that one to go to 400fsb.

Well ive seen people get their 965pt up to 580fsb, so i thought that this board had to be the right thing for me.
But *sob* I can only get the board to do like 430fsb *cry*
And that is with the rebelshaven 914 hacked bios :(

Ohh yeah btw heres what hw ive got:

E6300
FSP Epsilon 700w
2x1048 XMS2 pc6400
And a CM hyper48 for cooling (until i get my mach2 home from my workshop )

1 Time i was able to boot windows up with 450fsb but it crashed when i started superpi 1M

Plz help me, what should i do to get a better and more stable oc?

Best regards Bam4k

i have seen some Conroe boards have issues with the FSP power supplies.
when they switched to a different psu, everything was fine.

and replacing a AB9 Pro with a Biostar 965 Dlx ? your kidding right i mena come on now

if your AB9 Pro only did 400 that should have clued you in that you have something else wrong, very wrong.

and you only saw 580 on a sample board and that is a RARE very RARE case,
you dont see alot of those 965's doing 580, let alone even 500 and thats ONLY with 6 or 7x multi

you downgraded hoping for an upgrade. and you went with the way wrong board too.

i needet an extra board for a htpc anyways so no worries there.
Im not saying that im expecting to hit 580, just something better than 400 that was the max i could get out of my ab9pro. I could set it to more than the 400 out in the bios, but when it hit windows cpu-z only showed 400. So i guess there the board was the problem.

But the FSP problem i dint know of. Ive go an older antec 480w truepower somewhere in my apartment, ill give that a try.

I gave it a shot again right here before, and here i could get 450, boot into windows and do a sp1m, but after reboot i was back at the old problem.

ok, now i have tried to take one of my ram sticks out and can now do 460fsb but nothing more. seems like that the stick u pulled out wasnt abble to go higher then 430 and the other one 460 since i cant get it to go to 461 without the system crashing. So guess ill have to try some new stick of some kind.

Biostar is extremely picky about memory, going >500mhz FSB on the biostar depends all on your memory and luck your biostar likes your memory.
I have 2x512mb Fat D9 which could do easily >500mhz but they simply won't do that on my Biostar... too bad :(

well i have a fsb wall at 450 mhz with a PT. same weird thing that i could boot several times above 450 mhz but i think that was due to coldboot. so even though ppl reach high fsb with stock cooling i cant think of any other reason but the bad stock cooler. so i will try a better cooler with a decent mouting theese days. but it is a fact that the board is really sensitive about ram but i tried 2 different micron d9 and one aeneon ram kit. i dont think that a third kit would improve clocking here. :D but in your case its most likely a matter of ram i guess.

hopefully its the memory, but what kind have you heard should run well on this board? I was thionking of trying some cellshock or some small sticks of dominators (2x512 or so, since i only wanna run 400fsb for daily use ill still use the corsair ive got).
