My question is if it's possible to flash a 7600GS with a GT Bios since the GTs have more features on HDTV playback like inverse telecine.
Some of the GS cars have DDR3 as the GTs so when it's possible to get the right clocks could the card be flashed ?
Would safe me a few bucks building my HTPC :)
Anyone tried this already ?

why not try 7900GS ,in my opinion 79GS is performance/price > 76GS

The 7900GS costs nearly twice as the 7600GT and i'm not planning to build a gaming rig so wouldn't make sense to get 79GS ;)
Bad to hear that flashing is impossible even on DDR3 GS Boards :(

Funny over here in Aus it only costs an extra $50 or so too get a 7900gs instead of a 7600GT :D

Here in germany 7900gs 256mb cheapest price is 168 €, 512MB 184 € ->
7600gs 256mb costs ~90€, 512mb around 120 € -> 7600gt 256mb around 125 €.
This card will end in an HTPC for just looking movies and HDTV, so no need for maximum 3D-Power :) I think i will get the 7600gt to have all feature for HDTVplayback.

yeah, wow. germany is an expensive comp part place. Anyway, the 7600GS can probably overclock to a GT's speeds, but I doubt you will be able to flash it up to a 7600GT.

Yes oc to GT Speeds isn't the problem at all. Video codecs still "know" it's a GS and disable inverse telecine....
Buy the 7900GS. I flashed mine to GT ;)
