View Full Version : SLI-DR Boot Issue?

Hey guys:
I have a DFI SLI-DR mobo (not the expert). For some strange reason, when I hit the power button, it just sits there for like a minute, and THEN starts to boot. Once it boots, everything is peachy-keen (lol), but this lag between hitting the power button and it beginning the power-up sequence is troubling. I'm using an Antec Neo-Power PSU, and tested it as being fine on a friend's mobo. I've reset the CMOS, and done everything that I could think of.

I'm stumped, and searched, and found nothing...
Any ideas?
Thanks, in advance

That psu may not be enough, strange as it sounds, even if it works on another MB.

The DFI can be demanding of psu's,I've seen very similar probs to yours at DFI-Street fixed by using a recommended psu

I seem to remember something about DFI boards having trouble with the Antec Neo series PSUs for some reason

Yes, issues with Antec PSUs and this board are well-known.

try and power on the system using the onboard power switch on the motherboard itself and see if this problem persists. Perhaps it is something wrong with the wire/connection that goes from the case power button to the motherboard header.

Hey guys:
I'll try a new PSU as soon as I get paid again. I've been wanting to upgrade PSU's to a new Silverstone Strider modular anyways...so...

Cantankerous: I've only been using the on-board power/reset button, as this mobo has been sitting externally while I try and tech on it.

For you guys who are running this board, any rec's on a PSU that is modular, and would make this board happy?
