I just ordered my new system from newegg and just want to make sure that everything is compatible and the best configuration possible. This computer is not going to be used for gaming. It will be used primarily for photo and video editing.

Looks good. The only 2 things that I would change is the antec tri ==> Silverstone ST56ZF (About the same price, much more power and quality), and the Zalman Fatal1ty to one of the better tower-styled heatsinks such as the Thermalright Ultra-120, or Scythe Infinity, or Tuniq Tower.

I found that the Corsair PC-6400 (C4) is rock solid and can take me anywhere I wish to go. Nice rig selection. I too agree with the PSU swap.

Nice combination there, should all be good and i agree you may want to try a tuniq tower heatsink and another powersupply.

You might want to consider the Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 w/Perpendicular Recording,

You don't want a pair of low-quality medium-resolution monitors for these applications. Strongly suggest you remove the two Hanns-G from your order.

For photo/video editing, you'll want monitors with good color fidelity. Cheap LCDs often use 18-bit color rather than 24-bit.

IMO you're also a lot better off with either one or two 1600x1200 or 1920x1200 monitors rather than any number of 1440x900 or 1280x1024 monitors. You want to be able to see what you're editing at full size w/o needing to pan and zoom all the time.

Bottom line: If you're budget limited, you'll be happier with one great monitor than two junky ones.

Yeah should ahve taken out the Fatal1ty CPU cooler. Most Fatal1ty products are junk and all hype. Even an Artic Freezer 7 Pro will cooler better than that thing.

Why the X1300 PRO? Could have saved some money to pick up a better GPU.

And there are better PSUs than the Antec Trio.

First I am for the perpendicular recording but what is that?

Also I was under the impression that antec made some of the best psu's? I am open to the silverstone but why is it better. I have never understood what makes one psu better than the other. And also on that question in my gaming machine I have a bfg 1kw psu. Is that a good one.

And I did change the cpu cooler to the zalman 9500

Thanks

Perpendicular recording

What makes one psu better than another is parts, efficiency, rails, if you want it to be modular (cords can come off and be put on when needed), etc.
