you need to run that ram a little faster. I'm sure can do alot more than that.

Whats cpu/ram voltage? ram timings?

take the IHS off and do some of this :D

This is one of the first ones... i did that time CPU @ 1,625 v ;\ And Mem @ 4-4-4-10 2,1 default voltage and system is ThermalTake TR2 Cooled :f

The max i can do is 8x440 and ram @ 1xxx @ 2,30/2,35 +- 4-4-4-10

What ya think ?

You proably can. Check the xtreme bandwidth section and see the results they've been getting with cellshock ram.

I will NOT post my result until I'll achieve 13.xxx :). That's my goal for now. It will be very difficult (I think that max frequency which my CPU can handle is 4108MHz, so the rest must be optimizations), but I think it's possible ;).
Of course very good results menlatin and Bebel :).

Edit: it looks like 513FSB is max of my mobo, not CPU (with x6 multiplier it won't pass 1M @ 514 FSB). Maybe chipset needs better cooling, I'm not sure.

what are you're subtimings. I think you can get that time down a bit more.

start @ 4-4-4-4-5-35 and come down 30, 25 and see if you can do 20. I gained quite a bit from playing with subtimings. plus, i dont think you should be afraid to give the ram 2.2v or 2.3v as long as you have a fan over them.

I don't know what to think about this 32M, because I've ran 32M (from start to end) only ONCE (it takes sooo long) :).
A little hint: don't run Windows in Safe Mode, this option is slower than normal boot (with killed processes etc).

Well, OK, we can post results in 32M and 16M too (atleast I can, because I have these ;) ).

Intel IHS are soldered on. One runs the risk of easily ruining a chip compared to removing it on an AMD.

No sub-14s today, bad...
Fresh XP and it looks that I must tweak it (I don't know exactly how, I've already done the obvious things only, max frequency still @ 4106MHz and I think it's a mobo max, not CPU), today best result 14,031s (not enough stable to save screenshot).
Tommorow should be ~5°C lower, so I will try again ;).

Thx :).
Upgraded Your result lately (this 13.922)?
You have, in fact: better CPU (not 100% sure because mobo is veeery unstable even with 513x6 so the CPU maybe can go higher), better mobo, better cooling and I have maybe a little better RAM (I really don't know why it was 4-4-4-4 and not 4-4-3-4 as usual, the reason is that the day before I flashed BIOS a couple of times to test how fast every BIOS is (well, 0507 couldn't boot @ 510 FSB, 0614 was nothing special too, back to 0804) and not very carefully re-set the RAM settings) and some tweaks (definitely not the best possible but it was enough for me this time) so You should have better result and it is not annoying me in any case :toast:.
It was 4+ hours testing some strange settings in Windows and it was worth it but I don't want to spend more time on it (and I don't know what else to change in Windows).
Maybe when temperature will drop sub-zero and it will give me 516 FSB (don't know if possible) stable (1M stable of course) I will bench 1M again but for now I'm done :).

Edit: OK, I'll try some more, but I can't say that I'm sure that I'll improve this time. Maybe some better tweaks in Windows and 4-4-3-4. Furthermore, I'm not sure if I can re-bench @ 514,6 FSB (veeeery unstable). Tweaks in Windows @ 2,4GHz (my 24/7; if someone with E6400 want to compare just Windows optimization, my settings are 300 FSB, 2,4GHz, RAM 900 5-5-5-15 (subtimings 5-35-10-10-10-10 I think) and my best time so far is 23,859s; before mentioned already "4+ h tweaking" it was 23,922s) and then I'll decide if it is worth "real" benching :). But remember, I'm not promising anything. It's a little boring in fact (again, again, again and differences in milliseconds only) ;). Maybe 1-2 hours (some new settings to test), and when results won't get better I will stop, I'm not determined this time ;).
I really want to increase number of digits to 16/32M and give it a try :).

Hey folks,

I wanted to update my Spi 1mb time. Still need to tweak the ram a bit. Haven't had time to tweak the ram to find the tightest timing yet. I believe i was only running ram at 4-4-4-10.

I finally got my phase back, so I now have time to tweak :D

Spi 1MB WR as of 11/15 is 13.297.

I'm am going to try HARD to break into the 13.1s.

What's Your subtimings? Maybe there is something to tweak ;). I have the best subtimings @ 2-20-0-9-4-9, don't know what it would be @ ~550 FSB...
What else, hmm... some registry tweaks and MaxMem of course, not very big difference but I believe some difference is (especially the registry tweaks can give You a big gain but I don't know anything about it ;) ).

as of right now.. the main timing and subtiming is nothing special. Pretty much stockc.. I bleive 10-10-10-10.

I'm going to do a fresh OS load in the next few days and apply some tweaks.. and see how things goes :)

Hopefully 13.1 or 13.0 :) We will just have to wait and see. I haven't really played with the 965 subtiming much at all. So its going to be fun :D

Thanks for posting, it is some motivation for me :). Another 0,05s to beat, not sure if possible, because I tried reeeally hard to achieve sub-14s, but who knows, I will try ;).
Now in Poland is pretty "hot" (for benching), ~10°C at night, so this is not that easy as it was before (my sub-14 was @ ~5°C lower and I'm reaching some kind of CPU (or mobo, not sure, but probably CPU @ this temp) wall). But of course the temperature is dropping, so in near future I will do my best ;).
And 2,5V for RAM is not-reachable on unmodded P5B-Dlx (only ~2,3-2,35V if set to 2,45V in BIOS...), maybe I should try to mod it but I'm a n00b in moding ;).
Great result, anyway :).

You don't even need 3800 Mhz to get sub 15s SuperPi 1M ;) 3735 Mhz on E6400 is enough :D

Platform:

E6400 630A448 @ 1.59V
Thermaltake Sonic Tower
Asus P5B Deluxe Wifi-AP unmodded
2x1 Gb Corsair 6400C3 @ 2.45 Vdimm
8800GTX :D
PCP&C 850W

I'm by no means the ultimate Pi tweaker, but:

http://mrlobber.svnets.lv/Oc/conroe/pi1m.JPG

The key here is to stay on 1066 strap ( = boot @ 400fsb and clockgen up - this offsets at least 100 mhz of raw cpu speed). And the other Pi tweaks, like closing explorer, and so on.

My cpu can do 1M at least to 3850 Mhz on air, and mem is capable almost on DDR2-1200 4-4-4-8, so it is clear the board is crapping out in my case here... so more Vmch (remember, here the board is unmodded) would probably bring me some more Pi goodness for sure :)

Yup.. I'm pretty sure that's where it stops. I tried a couple different BIOSes and played a bit with voltages and mem timings. Btw, my mem does 525MHz 1M with 4-4-4-10 timings and 2,45v (in BIOS) so that's not what's stopping me.

I'll test with another P5B-Dlx and I'll also see how it likes better cooling (SS).

My old E6400, just had the CPU a few days and at that time i didn't know that "better" timings are slower on P5B.. :)

You need some tweaks (both hardware and software), guys ;).
I have sub-14s @ 4117MHz, with everything I know (and I'm not an ultimate Pi tweaker, believe me ;)) tweaked properly, so 4+GHz and ~14,5s is not the best reachable ;), keep tweaking and trying :).

tiborrr is right....there's no chance you will be able to shave THAT much off the times with 4-4-4-x....even if you had a 975x board and 3-3-3-x i don't think you'd be able to do sub-14 relative to your current times..........it is possible as the polish guy showed but you need to work on tweaking more too + get a 2GB kit of RAM...that will help in times too

JMKS As for my result: IMHO you aren`t right... You have +1Gb Ram /+75MHz CPU /15MHz Ram freq = I think it could made 0.5sec.

I need to take a screenshot when I do SPi runs, I was just doing them for stability testing and broke into 13.8x with 4200MHz. System isn't stable after 4200MHz which is weird, I can bench 3D at 4200 and I can do 32M at 4200 but 4208 causes a crash, I think that might be the limit of my chip and/or memory. I wish I knew more tweaks for SPi, wish one of the masters would tell us everything :p:

Do it with FSB 500+, 1066 strap and 2:3 4-4-4-12 - that would be something really interesting :P ;).
BTW, I'm getting Commando tomorrow - some new benches on the way :D.
