Is it me or is $5 for a NES game that's freeware (not licensed anymore and perfectly legal to rom as I understand it) retarded?

probably still illegal. I have a feeling that with the SD card option we are going to see a lot of cool stuff available for modders rather quickly.

yeah NES has never been released freeware.
no console to date has released their goods as freeware, hell even the Atari 2600 is licensed goods of Atari.
it is was and always will be illegal to download or own ROM's. and no according to the DMCA i believe it is illegal to own roms even if you own the cartridge, or if it's not, im sure it will be the next time they revise it.
