Running DFI Ultra-D 14/11/05 BIOS.

Current settings are :-

FSB Bus Frequency............................. 250 MHz
LDT/FSB Frequency Ratio....................... Auto
CPU/FSB Frequency Ratio....................... 10
PCI eXpress Frequency......................... 100

CPU Voltage .................................. Auto
LDT Voltage .................................. 1.20v
ChipSet (NF4) Voltage ........................ 1.50V
DRAM Voltage ................................. 2.70v
+0.03 if not 3.2V ............................ disable

Memclock (DRAM Frequency) .................... 200
1T/2T Timing (Command Per Clock).............. 1T
CAS Latency (Tcl)............................. 3T
RAS# to CAS# delay (Trcd)..................... 3T
Min RAS# active time (Tras)................... 7T
Row precharge time (Trp)...................... 2T
Row Cycle time (Trc).......................... 10T
Row refresh cyc time (Trfc)................... 16T
Row to Row delay (Trrd)....................... 3T
Write recovery time (Twr)..................... 2T
Write to Read delay (Twtr).................... 2T
Read to Write delay (Trwt).................... 3T
Refresh Period (Tref)......................... 3072
DRAM Bank Interleave.......................... Enabled

DQS Skew Control.............................. Auto
DQS Skew Value................................ 0
DRAM Drive Strength........................... Level 8
DRAM Data Drive Strength...................... Level 2
Max Async Latency............................. 8ns

What settings can I tighten up?

Thanks

Try dropping your Max Async Latency to 7 and work your way down. DRAM Response Time to Fast or Fastest. Definetly try dropping your IdleCycle Limit down, lower is better. And try enabling the Dynamic Counter.

Thats really all I can think of, try those and test for stability with each setting.

Ok, cheers, whats the Dynamic Counter do?

enabling dynamic counter will increase your latency by a fair, measurable amount. I wouldn't recommend doing that.

How high can you get those sticks from the cut and pasted settings above from OCz's forums and at what volts?

Check and see how good these sticks are as higher mhz is better than slightly tighter timings. If you find out your sticks aren't that strong you may want to lower your fsb a bit but then tighten up the timings to get the best you can get from your sticks. 3D is going to the ultimate tests as the stable clocks for these types of sticks are greatly reduced in gaming/3d benching when compared to general everyday use.

I have a couple pairs of these sticks and neither are very strong at all. I too am trying to find out the max I can get from them though even at close to stock they fail in 3D. BTW, why not upgrade your bios on that board? The latest one is actually quite good, stable and feature rich. I would recommend the 406BTA bios.

EDIT... I have done some fooling with my sticks this morning and found most timings don't change squat in terms of reading memtest bandwidth readouts or everest latency except two. TWTR and TRTW. I put TWTR to 1 and gained an additional 66mb/s than when it was set to 2 or higher. Setting TRTW to 2 netted me an additional 71mb/s. I found lowering TRAS, TREF, TRC etc netted me nothing in terms of performance. Neither did changing Max Async Latency or DRAM Response time. Just something to look into it I suppose.

BTW, DO NOT set TRTW below 2, it will result in a major no post of your system causing a full cmos clear to be used to get it to boot again.

These settings work for me up to 270 MHz:

What voltage are you running the EB at?

The lower the better... sweet spot is 2.6-2.7v.

I thought stock was 2.8v ?
