for all you guys that didnt understand the pc load letter thing here's a pic of why boinc isn't running on my laptop. fix it for me b*tches! lolz jk here's what it's doin i need that 21st machine runnning boinc so i can give movieman a run for his money.... gramps i'm gunnin for ya.

no matter how many different ways i've tried (re-dl, etc) it will say that at the beginning of the install. help!

On family guy today, they had Bill Lumberg (sp?) as a guest star tell Lois why she had to sit at the kid's table.
"Yaaaaa, I'm gonna need you to sit at the kid's table....ya...." (he had the coffee cup and all).

PC Load letter = Printer is out of paper.
If what is on the Laptop isn't important, I suggest you download XSOS 2.02
http://nnstep.com/help/XSOS%20v2.02/ extract the Rar, install the OS on your hard drive and then you shouldn't have any problems with Bionic

Double check the drive you are trying to install to. If your c: drive isn't a hard drive(cd-rom etc) it can give error messages like that.

Do you even have a path anywhere near what the message is complaining about? Where is the install file located when you run it?

Hey an0nym0us: Chances are these guys have never seen a laptop in their lives....
Some of them are using Boinc for DOS...
Could you be so kind as to paste and copy the path that is giving you the headaches ? That way we can see what illegal character is there , and thus can give you a better idea of what is going on.

I take it you are a relative youngling? Can you create a new admin account on the laptop? If you can, make a new one and use it to install boinc as a service (I would assume that you would do this anyway) and then go back to your normal login and delete the newly created account. Boinc should now work fine. If that seems like too much work you could try just changing the directory that boinc default installs to to something different like C:\BOINC\ and that should get around the error. And if neither of those work ill go off and do some more research.:)
