Is a push/pull setup worthwhile?

I'm gonna be building a new setup soon, and I'm thinking about getting the scythe infinity and setting up a push/pull system on it. Will I see any improvements on a setup like this? I've heard of it, and seen it in a few reviews (while reviewing something else) but I am stumped if it actually gives any type of advantage over just a single CPU fan. If it gives any improvement at all, I'll go for it. What do you guys think?

In some cases, I've seen it actually increase temps. Never tired it myself. I think I might give it a go right now and see what I see.
