I´v seen many people doing this so far.. I´v been told that it increases stability at higher FSB (correct me if I am wrong).
Does anyone have a guide for this. I would appriate if you could show one :toast:

well although a guide would be nice it is easy to do.
i am posting a pic of one of my cut chips.a xp2600 333 tbred

you will see i cut the L12 and L3 but the L12 will take care of some stabilty at high fsb.the L3 was cut to give me upper multiplyers.

cut is done with a Xacto knife and Patience.it looks rough up close but it anti easy to keep a steady hand on that tiny spot.

well first off normally it is only the 333fsb tbred's and bartons that cause this, lots of speculation why it works running around the web.abit says it should make no differance.
but i think the chipset timing is the key factor.I think when the chip is read as a 333 model ,the timing is changed running the northbridge chipset.to what i dont know.but i dont have any other idea to make of it.all i know is it made all the differance on my chips that were 333
