Also, I had it formatted and had data on it when it was a storage drive in my dfi ultra-d. just moved it over to the p5b today. thought I could still retain all the data?

let me see if you are saying this correctly. You Formatted (thus deleting everything on the drive) and wonder if you could still retain all the data?
Or are you wondering if you can move that already formated drive to the other Motherboard?
If it is the First Case, sorry data already lost
If it is the second case, just install the new chipset drivers before the switch

Could you be saying that it is a partition on the drive so it is showing a lot less space than there should be?

Note: References to 128GB and 137GB are the same thing, where one is calculated from decimal sizes and the other binary.

its the second one. I had my 320gb partitioned into 2 seperate drives. and Ive already made the switch to the new motherboard. What can I do?

Just use Maxtor Big Drive Enabler, works with every brand of harddisk.

Make sure you have SP2, then use Partiton magic to extended the drive to its full size.

I put my 300 GB drive in a new computer, installed XP on a 40 GB drive. First it only showed 128 GB space, unformatted. After installing XP SP2 it showed the proper size and all files where still there.
If it's a new install, install SP2
otherwise update mobo-bios, chipsets, etc

I used the cd my p5b came in to update my chipset drivers. If there is anything or anywhere else I can upgrade lemme know. Also, I'm running a copied version of windows with sp0 =X

Ill try to buy a used real windows cd
