In the Athlon 64 line, the FX-62 enjoys a $114 drop down to $713. AMD has also slashed prices for all Energy Efficient Athlon 64 X2s so that they now cost the same as their regular, non-low-power siblings. An Energy Efficient flavor of the Athlon 64 X2 5000+ has also been introduced for the occasion, although considering how scarce both EE chips and the regular X2 5000+ have been in the past, you may not see the new processor on shelves anytime soon.

In the budget desktop segment, the Athlon 64 3800+ is down $4 to $108. Pricing for the Sempron line hasn't budged, but AMD has ditched the entry-level 1.6GHz Sempron 2800+. A new 2.2GHz Sempron 3800+ for Socket AM2 has been introduced with the same $108 price tag as the Athlon 64 3800+.

Sweet, although the 8212 still costs though the lungs...
Which is going to pull AMD's Supply even tighter

i'm hoping that this price cut will have a trickle down effect on the s939 FX 60!

nice to see EE's costing the same. now you have no reason NOT to get one.

Am I the only one who see something wrong here?

Athlon 64 3800+ (64-bit, 2.4GHz, 512KB L2 cache, 2000MHz HyperTransport bus, AM2 and 939) $108

Athlon 64 3500+ (64-bit, 2.2GHz, 512KB L2 cache, 2000MHz HyperTransport bus, AM2 and 939) $91

Sempron 3800+ (64-bit, 2.2GHz, 256KB L2 cache, 1600MHz HyperTransport bus, AM2) $108:stick:

Not that I care about single core anyway....

the EE and EE SFF are different chips though.

the EE's are 65w chips and can be found in many local shops.

only the regular EE's got the price cut.
