Succes % is at 80 and i finally got my 2 nodes running reasonably good. Before i got crap after a few hours, now it seems to be holding at a combined speed of 650 kb/s down (24 hours now).

All i got to do now is see if 1 node can pull the same amount of urls on a day as two, is suspect it will...

Been lurking a bit again over at Team Norway, and they are posting again, as they are excited about our low output.

In short, they are counting the days to once again be 2nd.

People are joining them as things look good.

We need a goal ourselves, to get the joy back in to the team.

Meaning, it's hard to motivate people for 1, as py 222 is impossible to reach, and we have succeded getting our 2nd place....but we kinda need to maintain it.

MOTIVATION....i give you a kick in the @ss if you reach 1,000,000,000 as the first on team XS....thought so, bad idea.... : (

I think if we can get 2-4 more guys per day kicking in maybe 3/4-1 mil each we can do this. We're not that far off of Norways production.
I've got a ftp server here and that effects my production some.
On a dead day I can get close to 4-5 mil..but that isn't often

Damn, it should. I have a old single core FX51 that does WCG and MJ12 no problem..
While MJ12 is down I'm going to give what I can to the XS Dimes team here.
Good guys that work hard and they have Team Russia crawling up their butts.
Dimes is www.netdimes.org if your interested.
One install per machine unless you do VM's.
You also need Java installed first before installing Dimes.
Team name is "XtremeSystems" to save you from scrolling the list. Takes forever to find it. Just type it in as I have it here between the quotes.
Takes almost no cpu power and maybe 25mb memory..
After MJ12 you won't even notice it..:D

It's not much but those guys at the dimes team need all they can get right now and it just takes a little memory. No cpu power at all.

Dimes is pretty easy..The only changes I make are in the "Agent/Properties/Network" and then on the sliders in the middle move the top one all the way to the left and the bottom one all the way to the right..

Yea, the machine itself plays a big factor.
I have it on a clovertown, a Q6600 at 2600 and a FX51 at 2423mhz.
On the clover it never even shows 1% cpu usage, on the Q6600 once in a while 1-2% and on the FX51 it can show 97% when arciving..
The faster machine can just handle much more.
The 3 together are huge in what they can handle..

Haha you should start a psychic hotline :p: I've got a P4 540 that's gonna come out to be replaced this Tuesday with a Q6600(which hopefully oc's well) and a E4300 @ 3400Mhz on the side which will join another E4300 by January :) Bring on the powah! :D


on a side note, has anyone here gone through switching out a single-core for a multi-core? I don't know what to expect from Win XP and if it will require any steps to ensure all 4 cores are present and accounted for and ready to crunch

According to the Speakeasy speed test and usenet my line is ok; I may try changing the "Preferred Domains to Crawl" option if it does anything. What do you all have checked for that option?

Try this:
Shut down MJ12..
Go into the MJ12 dir, then into the data dir and delete all.
Then restart MJ12 and it will download all new URL's and go from there.
You might have a file or url thats causing the issue.

Your machine is experience hanging urls, that's my guess....meaning we are crawling bad data, old url's.

I have 68 hanging now, and they are giving me 300 per hour ( INFO domain )

I have unchecked the bad domains in options, until alex get some new ones.

But this is of course something we all have to deal with.

As you'll see, the data amount is also low, confirming bad data.

Heh, all I did was disable the INFO domain (had about 20 hanging buckets ;s) closed MJ12, deleted my data and restarted. Not had an INFO bucket come back. Was all .COM this morning.

I got almost 20 VM's running Dimes right now and clueless as to how they will effect MJ12..
Today it looks good, tomorrow will be the test.
Can I do 7 mil a day in MJ12 and maybe 60,000-100,000 a day in Dimes.
The issue with dimes is my verizon line won't do UDP and thats app 4 times the speed of the other protocol..

Woke up this morning and MJ12 wasnt crawling for some reason, seem to have died during the night.

Edit @ home: Fired up MJ12 on this machine when i got in, 20 uploads sitting queued from last night lol. Yay for big score jump shortly :D

Have approximately 14 days during which there will be nobody at my house including me. Turning the heat off and cracking the 3rd story windows and turning my crunchers on the world. This also means for 14 days I'll dedicate my 6mbit line to MJ-12. Can't believe I'm coming back to this DoS virus, cripples my line even when running with just a few workers. Let's hope Comcast doesn't get pissed again :)
