Check this out guys. After nearly 5 years of waiting, Half-life 2 has finally been announced for a September 30 release this year. You can read the article here at cnn.com.

I will give Valve credit for staying low for all of these years. Probably one of the best moves a game company can make when making a sequel.

Im glad theyve stayed low, the lack of hype will stop people expecting too much, peoplea lready expecting too much and thats what can kill a game, Half-Life is a fantastic game and i hope the sequel is too, im not going to read any previews on it at all so that it will take me by surprise like the first one did, i will read reviews and previews after i have played and completed it

That isn't a bad idea ccw. I however, am going to E3 this year and they are showing HL2 down there at the ati booth. WHile I won't get any premise on the story, I will get to see what the new engine came do.
More good news is that Team Fortress 2 will be coming out as well. When the developers decided to use the new half-life engine, they stopped updating people on their progress so that they wouldn't give anything away about HL2.

You know hat CCW, I think we must be the only ones that care about this came. If no one does care, they are missing out on something big.

You're not alone here, But I'm all in suspense over the upcoming Doom3. I'll still play HL2 too, but that's where my main gaming interests are;) :D

Same here, I'm still running on my raddy 8500, but I'm waiting to see which cards will run those newer games that are coming out before wasting my dough;)

Movie teaser released, doesent show so much but from the screenshots I've seen it's seem lika badass game.

I was just at E3 this last week. The line to get in and see the 30 minute presentation for HL2 was 3-4 hours! I saw a lot of cool screenshots and other stuff while there. There are a ton of cool games heading our way in 2004. If you guys can ever afford to go, you have to check out E3.
