all machines that are stock are limited by stock cooling/oem motherboards and bios. the c2d is on an SLi board and won't do past 2240 stable, but still outcrunches almost everything. larry's xeons are his babies he bought that dell new. not excuses, but working processors are better than burnt up ones... if they're mine you know for sure i'm trying to take them as high as they can go.

No OC options on board? The clockgen is very unstable to use, but on a OC friendly board you'd get them to 2.9/3.0 easy with NO vcore adjust.
http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=130232Temps would never be a problem.

pin mod those laptops all except the core duo because you cant

most of them are out of reach to pin mod and i'm not comfortable taking apart a laptop that's still got a warranty and doesn't belong to me.... i am, however, willing to try this pin mod on my 1.5 dothan celery, so show me the light.
