It's official, next generation starts in q1 07.

Due to bandwidth draw being too much at crysis-online.com, here's a second link.

http://www.incrysis.com/

They're all on this site too, just scroll down and you'll find them below "And the best is saved for the last. Here come the comparison shots!"

Man that game just keeps looking better and better. Unbalievable realism! Hard to beleive two g80's will be able to handle that well!

edit: if they can then great job NVIDIA!

Considering the ingame videos we've seen thus far were on CF'ed x1900xt's, and the G80 is more powerful than CF'ed x1900xt's, I'd say a single G80 should be able to run this game. Especially since supposidly the g80 gets completely free AA.

2xG80s... if the G80 can't run it on full in single card mode then it has failed in my eyes :S

Animation System: Playback and blending between motion data (captured or key framed) combined with inverse kinematics (using biomechanical hints) and physical simulations. Special attention was applied to realistic human animation (e.g. adapting to uneven terrain, eye tracking, facial animation, leaning when running around corners, natural motion transitions).:slobber: :worship:

games are always designed to apeal to the low-midrange market and full out top end market too, i recon that there will be options that allow something along the power lines of a 8800gtx sli to be taxed hard or even something like a 7600gt.

I myself wont be upgrading till q3 next year when quad core is done right by both amd and intel, pcie 2 has settled and bearlake/k8l is in.
I hope with a single card i will be able to get good fps with everything turned up on games like this.

I'm going to have to curse with this one. No :banana::banana::banana:ing way.
I hope an E6300 and 8800GTS can play this with settings like that.

well my upgrade plan:

Nov , 2006 : get GeForce 8800GTs
Q1 2007: get anotehr 8800GTS when it drops to $300-ish
Q3 2007: get either X2900(maybe new AMD name as its killing ATI's brand now) or GeForce 8900 which ever is faster. hopefully there will cards like GEForce 8900GTO or GeForce 8900GX2

If the crytek engine for crysis is anything like its previous iteration, lower end systems (7600GTs/X1800GTO's) should fair pretty well (of course, with nothing maxed) and it will be on the direct X 9.0L version, so it may look less impressive.

EDIT: Whoops, looks like I have dealt a bit of misinformation. Turns out there will be no 9.0L for XP (according to INQ) - can anybody confirm if a version of Crysis is being released for XP?

I'm just wondering how well it'll run on one of the new G80 or R600 boards.

Games won't come in different versions for XP and Vista. You'll buy one copy that will work on both.

XP +DX9GPU = DX9
XP +DX10GPU = Still DX9
Vista +DX9GPU = DX9.0L
Vista +DX10GPU = DX10!!!

Crysis will run on all of them. I think I even read it supports DX8. So, pretty much anyone here at XS will be able to play Crysis.

DX9.0L is just an enhanced version of DX9 made to work with Vista. End of story.

And one last side note: Last I heard, Crytek said you'll get a performance boost on Vista even if you're using a DX9GPU. If it sound simpossible, look at TheINQs Serious Sam 2 benchmarks on Vista next to XP.

You can delete the Rd600 option i your signature then I guess. Though nothing is surtain now with all the modded bios and stuff. But a 6xx Nforce board might suit you better. :)

If they improve the gameplay and story from FarCry as much as they said they are, then with everything put together this could be one of the best FPS to date.

I'll first get the game, check out the gameplay. If I like it, I'll buy a DX10 card and Vista. Or maybe I'll let my mom pay for Vista + multiple licences ;).

does it have support for ageia ppu's?
edit: it doesnt...i guess it wont have as good physics as ut2k7

:slap:

that is a bad assumption buddy

physics quality has to do with programing not with hardware. they can do some amazing things with software physics and it runs great and they can do some crappy things with hardware physics that are a waste of time graw and city of heroes for example

not saying ageia is bad at all i think its great what they try to do but dont make the assumption you did the crytek programers are brilliant

^^^ yes I hope they release a demo before the game is released like they did for far cry. Ahh I remember the day I downloaded that demo and beheld the amaizing visuals on my 9600pro lol. That was an amaizing experience alright and you can bet it'll be even more amaizing this time around!

My thought exactly. I hope the "feel" will be as good as the looks. If it is they have done a great job.
