HEi all...

Has anyone any info on the subject ?..

According to my "intel" *hehe* the HYperX Ram modules have a problem with the NF2 chipset and there4 limits how high you can clock your FSB when they run i DC mode.. ?

ie.
Mobo:
NF7-S Rev.2
2 sticks 256Mb HyperX PC3500 (DC mode)

Please advice if you have any info at all...

i havent checked my self but one said something about some info in the abit forum ?

I think that your problem is your HyperX modules, they have a issue with the nForce2 boards, don't know if it effects your MB, but you could try another stick from a different brand...

My NF7 Rev. 2.0 doesn't like the HyperX in slot 1. I'm not able to boot. In slot 3 it's fine but i'm not able to run 'em DC

What issue? Like I said in another post...where did you hear this? and what is the issue? Are you sure about this? I haven't heard of this. Not saying there isn't a problem...just don't have it or know of it.

You can read all about it.., its seems that it only effects high FSB's but why chance it..

Go Corsair.. :O)

Thanks for the link BoGus...explains a lot of problems that I was attributing to the new NB...seems I was half right anyway. Here's a quote from Abit marketing from your link.

" We are working closely with Kingston regarding this issue. So far, the problem seems to be a incompatible issue between the Hyper X and the newer stepping of the North Bridge. I can run ANY other PC3500 modules up to 217Mhz FSB =434Mhz DDR @ 2-3-3-6 without any problems on the NF7-S v2.0.

Kingston is working on this issue with NVIDIA right now and we are waiting for a fix from them.

AFAIK, Hyper X has the same issue with other motherboard manufactures as well."

How does this explain the folks who are running high fsb with this combo?

TheDude...

They are running in single mode not DC... would be my guess..

Kingston Hyper X memory modules are having problems hitting high speeds with anything that has the CRUSH 18D northbridge, which includes the ABIT NF7-S Ver 2.0. As said above, Kingston and NVIDIA are working on a solution.
