What is it? Do you have a link? That would be easier to help you

But if you're talking about the duct, i'd it's not worth it or build your own and make the duct go out of the case

yeah, almost any fan grill restricts airflow. Tt is especially bad about this; the Crystal Orb on my video card moves more air with less noise after i removed the grill.

I don't see the use of this, except for design. It has all the drawback of grill (and maybe more) without the advantages

All it does is look nice. IMHO, it would be better if it were UNDERNEATH the fan, with much thinner blades going in the opposite direction, kind of like the Sunon HO and Delta HO fans. Then it would actually have the benefit of straightening airflow off the blades.

You could then always add LED's to the sides. Just make the fan clear and they will shine through. Having the red LED's pulsate with hard drive activity is a nice Idea, I just don't see why one should jeapordize cooling for it.
