do you think a TT volcano 11+ with one of those ducting mods would cool an overclocked 2800+ barton good? is it much quieter with the duct? I have an slk-800 w/crystal clear led speed control fan, will the TT combo be better?

I don't think that the volcano will beat the slk-800, if you want better temp i'd say buy a bigger fan

does the duct even help?

That would depend on your case and the amount of case fan you have, if it's a well ventilated case, then i doubt it would help. But if it's a small case with no or a few case fan then it would help as it'll remove the hot air of the cpu from the case

keep your SLK800.

I've checked the design of the duct and in fact if you don't have a hole with a fan next to the cpu in the back of the case that won't help a thing!

it's not much of a duct since it doesn't actually go out of the case.

Im just in aww that any company would have a "duct" for their heatstink that does jack**it. I mean, i just think its crappy that they would put out something like that to fool the masses...

Tt do it a lot, they do have some handy products, the one that comes to mind are the passive memory coolers whic hare handy for mosfets but cooelrs like the VOlcano 9, etc suck, Tt are hit and miss for good products but theyre OK

They do make quite a good fan out now ;) I agree though most people get the V7 and/or the V9 and think they are ready to OC. Ohh well, as far as the duct goes it's alright for getting the air concentrated on the exact area you need to be cooled, but it's nothing special. If they made a 120 duct that could be hooked up someway outside the case to get some nice air movement goin it would be good. However, the V11 isn't in the same league and you are good with teh SLK-800. :)

I don't really like TT prducts, it's more for the look than anything else and it's widely available unlike other brand

those sinks are very useful though, jus tthe right size for memory, mosfets and loda other stuff, easy to cut as well
