OK here's my question is it possible to fileshare from one computer to the other on a shared cable connection I want to share my printer as well as my fileshare since only one of them has a cd-burner currently! :(
I'm not planning on burning the cd from the other computer just move the file over and then burn!
is it possible and still be connected to the internet?
let me know

if your router has two ethernet ports then you can do it with just the router..if it only has 1..then no

You gotta put them both on the same workgroup and share out at least the hard drive you want to pull files from. Then map the network drive and copy what you want.

You don't confugure the router, you configure the machines for file sharing.
