Mac wirless... i'm a little pooped

Hi guys,

I'm not a Apple person and don't know in the ins and outs of how apples work but need to help my girlfriends land lady with her apple.

She has one of those Macs with the small bubble base and the lcd mounted into it with a metal arm.

She wants to make the thing wireless as i've put in a wireless router for my gf for her pc. Now can I use a standard USB adapter with her mac or do I need to buy an overpriced apple product?

Any help appreciated :)

You should be fine with most USB adapters.

I don't know how much most usb wireless cards are but airports aren't that bad.

ya the airport extreme card fits in every G4 mac and newer.

i heard that Airport Extreme's didn't fit in G4 iMac's, and you had to use the overpriced ($135) original 802.11b Airport cards. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong though, I only have G3 macs...

only the first generation imac G4s used the regular airport cards...


Firelord-OCHW, if you can get me the serial number of the computer I could tell you for sure which one you need. Or you could call Applecare, give them your serial number, and ask which one you need.
