My first OC:
3600Mhz. 450x8@1.400vcore.
All other voltages set to auto.
C1E disabled
SpredSpectrum disabled
Mem ratio 1:1
Asus P5B Deluxe
Core2 E6400
COOLER MASTER Hyper 6+ heatsink/fan.
Kingston HyperX 8500 DDR2, 2x512MB.
MSI 7950GX2 600/800.
2 instances of Prime Inflated FFT Stable.
3DMark 2006 10173
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=523126
With Q fan enabled I get 54c max temp.
With Q fan disabled I get 51c max temp.
idle temp is 44c, 42c.
Waiting on some Artic Silver 5 and more fans. Then I am going to redo the MB heatsinks and CPU heatsink as well as do some mods for cooling the case.
Then see how much higher I can get.

Welcome to XS :)

Great OC there man. Sounds like a good idea to re-seat mobo heatsinks. Keep pushing it if your temps stay under 60*C. I wouldn't go higher than 1.5v vCore though, but that's just me.

Well, its a good overclock at least. If you supply with some screes it woule be nice.

You are right (its a good score) but some screens will give meat to the post :P

How do I get screen shots? I am blind and do most of this with a screen reader or I have someone read BIOS SETTINGS TO ME.

theres a print screen key on your keyboard top right :P

Then open up paint, paste the screeny (ctrl-v) then save as a jpg.

edit: oops just read you are blind. Maybe it will work anyway. You dont need a screen to take a screenshot...

Thanks, What do you want screen shots of? I put the ORB link to my 3DMark 06 score. It has most of the info you need. The OC for that test was a little less 440x8. The few extra mhz don't affect the 3DMark score though.

Sorry to hear about your illness, if you want to call it that. I think it's really great that you can still enjoy computers like the rest of us. Overclocking, tuning, benching, and posting at XS. Good for you :)

Thanks, I built this for my son. I just need a basic comp for non gaming use.
Do you think running the FSB at 533 and the multiplier at 7 would gain any performance? That would put the memory at 1066 witch is what it is rated at as well as gaining another 131Mhz..

Yeah you'd gain performance. Just watch northbridge temps, make sure you've got some sort of fan blowing on it. I'm not sure if you would be able to do 533FSB, most boards top out at 500 without mods.

What kind of mods? voltage? cooling?
Thanks for any help.

Very Nice Clocks. Superb Job for a first Timer.

Wht kind of mods ?
Vcore mod or voltage mod.

Before I start upping the NB voltage I am moding the case for better air circ. and directing air through the MB heatsink via ducting and a fan.

Looks like your son is going to have a nice system.;)

Well it isn't all for him. I live vicareously through him sometimes. I like to tweak things and I never seem to be satisfied with anything stock. Well at least he benefits from my quirks. LOL

while not really extreme, it is a very good OC.
most people have troubles passing the 3.3 ghz mark it seems.
so 3.6 is always nice.
3.6 right now, seem to be the "good standard" for a air cool C2D right now, atleast around here ;)

nearly the same as my own PC.

3.6 on air while orthos/memtest stable? cause dammit if I dont have to raise my vcore to the point where I'm idling in the 60's at 3.6 to get stable, btw
