View Full Version : Vista RC1 does not recognise drivers as such

While I do realise that it's still a beta OS and there may be no solution to this, it never hurts to ask. When I'm trying to hook up my Sony-Ericsson K750i telephone to my PC it asks for drivers, which are both on the driver CD and downloadable. Those drivers are a set of files in a folder (.cat, .inf, .sys etc.), and Windows XP simply recognises them as drivers when it scans for them. However, Vista says there are no drivers in that folder present. Could it be that Vista doesn't see the drivers because they are incompatible (which was my first guess), or am I doing something wrong?

Most likely you need Vista designed drivers for it.
Some XP drivers work, but most of the XP only drivers I have result in a BSOD.

Thought so, guess I'll have to wait until the release of Vista for Sony-Ericsson to make those. Companies like that probably don't invest in making drivers for beta operating systems.
