I was soldering 10K resistors onto my sunbeam rheobus, and now one of the lights is messed up. It works fine at 7V+ (blue), but turns off rather than red at under 7V. It's a 3 legged thing, the 10K resistor is soldered in the middle leg...what could be causing this problem?

Got an electrical layout?

Beyond getting you a picture or two, no :( I'm so ignorant in this department.

Why solder resistors onto it?

I assume you got this mod elsewhere and copied it, got a link to the original guide?

the mod allows the light to be dimmed down ALOT. although i would have just recommended pushing the led back a little, which had helped alot for me.

-Shpoon, i would just resolder it.... maybe try putting the original back on.

@ripken204: I don't know if that would solve the problem though, if one light is working, the soldered resistor is working fine....

Is the red LED now dimmed a bit? or allot

Sounds like your unit needs a different size resistor.

One option is to work out which leg of the controller is the blue (tight or left) and add a smaller size resistor in there (5k maybe) and remove the 10k one you jsut fitted.

Or you can shove a 10k pot in there and ajust the brightness with that... then just buy some resistors in the correct size for the other 3 controllers.

I doubt you broke anything, your controller is probably just slightly different to the one in the guide.

Well...the blue light works, and all the other 3 reds work...it's not dimmed, it's just off, and turns on at 7v to blue.
