my BOINC manager has suddenly stopped working.

when i open it, it has no tasks or projects listed, and says it is not attatched to any clients, and that i need to go "add computer" and then type "localhost" to use this computer.

i do this, and then when i try to attatch to project, it still says the same thing.

any ideas?

Can you upload a screenshot ot tell me exactly what the problem is?
What kinda Linux are you using and which boinc version?
Have you tried restarting and reinstalling boinc?

Strange problem:confused:

When you try this what does the message tab says?

Ive had a similar problem, buts that because i was running 64 bit boinc which wcg dosent like:p:
I solved it by installing the latest 32 bit version from the wcg site and its actually running fine in my 64 bit EgdyUbuntu system:D

Anyway
It may be that your version is too old?
Sice your show 5.2.14
and the latest is 5.4.9

Go to your /BOINC/projects/www.worldcommunitygrid.org
and copy all the data files in there over to a safe place.

Then remove your current Boinc from synaptic
Then go to this site
http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/viewDownload.do?platform=linux
Install the new one
Then you move your copied data over to the new Boinc and hopefully it works:D
