Where did you pick up the word passive in that review?

At the top

"We will see how good this radiator performs vs a Alphacool Cora 6 and vs a BlackIce extreme."

Alphacool Cora 6 = passive rad

wtf? its passive?

If the performance review is rite and not rigged, you can make a pretty cool mod with all those pipes :D .

Mount em on the sides, bottom and top of your com to make your comp look
unique :D

Only problem I see is that in total its weight is over 4kg, and its made of aluminum.... yuk...

Pretty useless review. They didn't show the delta between ambient temp and raised temp, or did I miss it?

the cora 6 is alu and bulky vs the pa160 which as he stated is better to fit inside a case and not the outer bulkier look of the cora 6

also it would depend on his pc table positioning, what if his cora 6 was in the way of good cool airflow from an AC unit or even a deskfan? we don't know if this helped cool said passive radiator to match temps with the PA160...

Thermochill must agree with the results to endorse it on there webpage.

Maybe Marci will leave some feedback this week ?

Hmmm, 214x166mm radiator (total X-Y dimensions) with fan at 5v provides the same performance as a 420x300mm 4.35kg radiator.

I reckon that'd be the reason for Thermochill to include it. It really does beg the question of "Why ever go passive?". Unlikely that a 5v fan in-case is going to be heard above the disk-drive(s) whining, or even above the noise of almost any pump for that matter either.

The choice is either a moderately sized radiator which can be mounted internally and still be a portable system for minimal extra weight, as opposed to a monster radiator, weighing half as much as the entire system again, which at the end of the day once other noise concerns are factored in, might mean a net 0.2dBA difference.

It brings home the point that you can go passive, or you can even use a tiny amount of air-flow on a regular radiator, still be compact and effectively silent, and achieve the same performance.

i'd stick with the PA instead of that big Cora 6 alu...
PA160:
portable = checked
copper = checked
waterflow = checked

No need for me to say anything! Cathar covered it nicely...

I have a PA160 on one of my Optys and it works flawless, exceptional piece of cooling hardware.

Would a single PA160 at 5v or 7v be enougth to cool CPU,NB and GPU blocks in
a single setup ?

Yes
